Biometric finger reader time clocks can use either Identify or Verify mode. If the time clock is configured to Identify, the employee simply places a finger on the time clock. If the finger matches a template stored in the clock's memory, the employee is punched In. If the finger reader is configured to Verify, there is an additional layer of security. The employee must swipe a badge or type in a PIN before being asked to place a finger on the time clock.
